More Information Needed on Hit and Run on Monday in Missoula

An alleged hit-and-run on Monday morning in Missoula has authorities searching for more information. Travis Welsh with the Missoula Police Department said at around 9 a.m. Monday morning, a collision occurred at the intersection of North Reserve Street and Union Pacific:

"The collision involved a black Chevrolet pickup and a man on a bicycle," Welsh said. "Apparently the driver of the pickup helped the bicyclist up, get into his vehicle, loaded the bicycle into his truck, and then drove him across town."

Welsh said the truck dropped the bicyclist off at the Eastgate Shopping Center where the male walked around for several hours before he arrived at the hospital by private vehicle.

"A call was later made to 911 and Missoula Police officers responded," Welsh said. "The male victim appears to have pretty significant injuries. As of this morning, he was still in the hospital. The driver of the pickup is described as a white male with short brown hair. He is said to be 5-foot-10 inches tall, 180 pounds, and is said to be in his forties."

Welsh said it appears the driver's first name could possibly be "Mike."
