I assume so, anyway.  Does it ever cease to amaze you what some people will do to try to scam the system? If they put this much ingenuity into their careers they'd probably be a whole lot better off!

Let's see if I understand this story from Associated Press. A guy was arrested for tampering with public records and theft of services. Apparently he rigged fishing line to his front license plate, then ran the line into the cab of his truck. When he would go through an electronic toll lane on the George Washington Bridge in New Jersey, he'd pull on the line to raise his plate, taking it out of view of any surveillance video, and drive through without paying.

Apparently he couldn't come up with a clever way to do a Transformer number on his rear plate. He just kind of bashed and crumpled that one so it was difficult to read.

But if you drive a toll bridge once, there's a good chance you do so on a regular basis, and authorities were eventually able to hook their crook. I'll bet he put on a great puppet show at the detention facility.         DB
