I about fell off my bar stool when I heard about this. Okay, full disclosure: I don't sit on bar stools.

I prefer a chair. Seriously, I can't imagine buying drinks with this pricing policy. And you must be one heck of a bar if you can get away with thinking you're a hotel or an airline.

There's a bar in San Diego, The Blind Burro, that uses software created by The Drink Exchange. The drink prices are constantly changing. The "dynamic pricing" system tracks what drinkers are buying at any given minute. So, the higher the demand, the higher the price, just like hotel rooms, airfare, etc. For example, the Blind Burro had one of their high-end tequilas priced at $7.75 a shot. A few minutes later it dropped by 50 cents. But at the same time, another one of the tequila brands they carry went up a buck.

Wouldn't you love to be a server in this establishment having to explain all that crap! Boy, we get a little too high tech for own good sometimes. Cheers, everybody.  DB
