Hey, here's a fun way to tease your hunting buddies if they come home with a rather small deer harvest. Just say, "Oh! I see you got a pudu!"

Nah, you wouldn't be that mean. Would you? Okay, you probably would so I'm glad I could help out with your good-natured ribbing.

A southern pudo (POO doo) is the world's smallest deer species. Fully grown, they get to be about a foot tall at the shoulder. It was a pretty big deal recently when one was born in captivity The Queens Zoo in New York. All six inches and less-than-a-pound of him. Heck, the Wildlife Conservation Society even sent out a baby announcement.

So there, we have an adorable new deer in the world and your armed with a new insult for your hunting pals. Multi-tasking!  DB
