Hunters who legally harvest big game can now donate their meat without having to pay a processing fee or distribution charges. This new program which was signed into law last year is known as Hunters Against Hunger. Fish, Wildlife, & Parks and Montana Food Bank Network teamed up to establish the Hunters Against Hunger fund.

Any time someone buys a Montana hunting license they have the option of, donating money to the fund. So far the fund has received seventy thousand dollars in donations. Remarkably, more than half of the donations come from out-of-state hunters. This money will go to reimburse processing plants for processing and distributing the meat.
