Montana Has the Largest Waterfall on the Missouri River
Ever wonder where the actual Great Falls of Montana is? We actually have the largest waterfall on the Missouri River.
The Missouri River runs 2,341 miles across the country and Montana holds 5 waterfalls in about 10 miles of the river. 87 feet is the "Great Falls" of Montana. It's also called the Grand Falls or Big Falls. 87 feet high and can get to 900 feet wide.
These falls especially the great one gave Lewis and Clark trouble on their expedition. In 1805 they became the first white men to set sight on the falls. Not only was the water treacherous the wildlife had really been rampant in that area.
