If you find a robin in one's stomach, that could be an indication that they'll eat anything. That actually did happen and Associated Press tells us that an invasion of American bullfrogs is spreading and poses a threat to native frogs and other species here in Montana. And yes, they will pretty much eat anything, including each other. Bullfrogs were found along a 66-mile stretch of the Yellowstone river from Laurel to Custer, and the number of estimated breeding sites has nearly quadrupled in 4 years. Efforts to eliminate them have so far been unsuccessful, so research is being done to at least contain the little beasts.

As if often the case in Montana as well as elsewhere, scientists are blaming bucket biologists. Here's hoping it doesn't become a major epidemic. You might start seeing frog legs on a lot of Montana menus.
