The Montana Department of Transportation held a Construction Carnival to thank the Frenchtown community for its patience during six months of construction work.

They organized the free family event at Frenchtown High School on Monday evening.

They had educational games, a costume contest for the best-dressed construction worker and more. MDT officials bought over $100 worth of candy to give out to attendees.

Crews have been reconstructing the 11 mile-Frontage Road parallel to Interstate 90 to make it flatter and safer for drivers.

The reconstruction on Frontage Road will end in mid-November.  In April of next year, crews will add guard rails and other finishing touches.
