The thought of a child right here in Western Montana not receiving even one gift on Christmas morning is pretty heartbreaking.

In our family of radio stations, KYSS-FM has been holding the ‘KYSSmas for Kids’ auction for 19 years. Once again this year, we will expand the auction to all 5 of our stations to help as many kids as we can this holiday season.

But we need your help. Without the generosity of local businesses, residents and our wonderful listeners, we would not be able to pull this off each year.

In 2014, we were able to take 373 kids Christmas shopping. It’s a private shopping trip for children who might not receive any gifts otherwise. Each story is is heart breaking and heart warming at the same time.

Stories like the dad who beamed as his children were able to wear brand new snow boots for the very first time. The 8-year-old who asked if he could spend his gift card on household items for his family. The little girl who exclaimed “I must have been good, I get TOYS this year!” while clutching a new sled and a teddy bear.

These families are your friends and neighbors from the Bitterroot, Flathead, Missoula and Seeley Lake. If your business would like to make a contribution to the auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to the children, please contact 'Front Desk Debbie' at 728-9300.

The on air auction will take place starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, December 4th with Billy and Charene on KYSS-FM. We’ll have ski passes, vacations, hotel getaways and many local services and dining at a discount. What a great way to shop for gifts while helping local kids!

From our family to yours, thank you in advance and let us be the first to wish you a merry holiday season!
