It’s that time of year again. The” monsters” are back on grocery store shelves around the nation. We’re talking the Monster cereals from General Mills; Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and Franken Berry. These cereals were originally released back in the early  1970’s and were sold year round for about 35 years. Then they were pulled from the market and since then have been sold only during the Halloween season. They are this year joined by Frute Brute and Fruity Mummy Yummy. All five selections are available this season with updated artwork on their boxes.

Some people hoard the cereals so they can eat them all year. Others have become collectors of the various boxes. The most collectible are the Frute Brute boxes like the ones featured in Quentin Tarantino’s movies; Reservoir Dogs and Pulp  Fiction.
