36 year-old Andrea Case has been charged with felony aggravated burglary and assault with a weapon after allegedly assaulting another woman at a downtown Missoula motel on March 12.

According to court documents, police were called to the Bel-Aire Motel by a man barricaded inside a bathroom. When officers arrived they found the female victim ‘covered from head to toe’ with blood with several head injuries.

After being treated at St. Patrick Hospital, the victim stated she was forced into the motel room by two females and struck in the head and face several times with a heavy object.

The suspect, identified as Andrea Case, is a former girlfriend of the man who was barricaded in the motel bathroom, and she is seven months pregnant with his child. The man told police he had broken up with Case, and was in a relationship with the victim at the time of the attack.

During Case's appearance via video in Missoula Justice Court, Deputy County Attorney Brittany Santorno told Judge Marie Anderson that under normal circumstances, she would be requesting a high bail, but because the defendant is seven months pregnant, the state was recommending pre-trial supervision.

The public defender at the jail said that Case was already dilated and cramping, and was asking for a quick resolution to the proceeding.

Judge Anderson set bail at $1,000, and ordered Case not to have any contact with the victim, or to have any access to alcohol or drugs.
