Missoula Woman Arrested on Felony Theft Charges

A Missoula woman was arrested by police after allegedly attempting to steal a car.

Public Information Officer Travis Welsh said the call came into 9-1-1 just before 10 o'clock on Sunday night.

"The call came in from a resident in the 1900 block of South 8th Street in Missoula," Welsh said. "The homeowner said they had gone out to start their car in the driveway to let it warm up, when the owner's daughter heard the engine revving. They went out to find a strange woman sitting in the car who was apparently attempting to drive it away."

Welsh described the reaction from the suspect.

"When the woman in the car saw them, she got out and walked away," he said. "She was located a short distance from the home and was placed under arrest.

Welsh identified the suspect as Jannelle Little Coyote, 25. She was taken to the Missoula County Jail and will make an appearance in Justice Court.
