Missoula Woman Arrested for Felony DUI After Crashing Into Police Car [AUDIO]

A Missoula woman was arrested and charged with felony DUI early Friday morning, May 24, after allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a city police car.

Corporal Paul Kelly said the incident occurred when officers were investigating a loud party in the 200 block of Southwest Higgins at about 3:00 a.m.

"We heard a crash, and then saw a light or silver colored van had hit one of our patrol cars and then left the scene," Kelly said. "One of the other officers followed the car and caught up to it on Whitaker Drive. We processed the 29 year-old female driver, Christie Augare, for felony DUI, driving while her license was suspended and driving without an interlock device when required to."

Augare is in the Missoula County Jail on $10,000 bail. Kelly said no one was injured in the collision, but the police car was damaged badly enough to be removed from service.
