During the 2010-2011 school year, Missoula County Public Schools began researching and planning for the Smart Schools 2020 initiative "to identify key elements of an educational model that would successfully prepare students for 21st century careers and life challenges." After gathering and organizing lots of information about facilities, sites, school profiles, safety, and community demographics, Communications Director Hatton Littman is ready to update the public.

"We have updates on our Smart Schools 2020 bond at every single board meeting, but I think this meeting will be fun because we will have representatives from the school as well as the architecture firm L'Heureux Paige and Warner, presenting designs for Franklin Elementary School and Lowell Elementary School," Littman said. "These are designs that will be exceptionally close to what will be going into place."

Littman said the meeting will be held tomorrow night, March 8.

"The board meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the MCPS business building," Littman said. "The address is 915 South Ave. The board room is located on the far right end of that business building."
