Missoula Police are attempting to track down the perpetrators of an attempted robbery that occurred at around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 21 at a restaurant in the 2000 block of South Avenue West in Missoula.

"When the manager came to work he saw that a lock had been cut off of one of the storage units at his business and he reviewed his surveillance video," said Missoula Police Detective Sgt. Scott Pastian. "What it shows is what appears to be to juvenile males walking onto his property."

The two individuals captured by the surveillance video are both wearing baggy shorts and baseball hats that are turned backwards. The angle of the shot makes it difficult to make out many distinguishing features though.

"One of them had a bolt cutter and cut the lock off the storage unit while the other person stood by," Pastian said. "They took a look for anything they wanted to take. They didn't actually take anything, but since they're on video the police department is asking for help in identifying them."

Pastian says the city is investigating multiple unsolved storage unit break-ins, but that there is no evidence yet linking this case to other incidents.

Anyone with information about this case is advised to contact the Missoula Police Department at 406-552-6300, Crimestoppers at 406-721-4444, or Detective Sergeant Scott Pastian at 406-552-6329.
