Missoula police are looking for a Missoula man who has failed to register as a violent offender.

Police spokesman Travis Welsh said 36 year-old James Loggins was found guilty of criminal endangerment and sentenced to five years in prison.

"Loggins is a white male, he's 5'9" and weighs about 200 pounds and he has brown hair and brown eyes," Welsh said. "He was convicted in Missoula County for criminal endangerment and is required to register as a violent offender. At present, he is not compliant with his registration and the office of probation and parole has issued a warrant for his arrest."

Welsh said police are asking the public to refrain from any contact with Loggins.

"Because of his record of violence, we don't recommend the public to try to approach him and take any action, but rather note his location and contact law enforcement instead."
