If you want to attend the annual Five Valleys Chapter of Pheasants Forever banquet, you'd better get going!

One of the organizers, Jim Seel, told me that from its humble beginnings, "where 50 guys might show up," it has taken on a life of its own. That's a real testaments to bird hunting enthusiasm in western Montana.

The banquet is this Saturday, March 11, at the Hilton Garden Inn on North Reserve in Missoula. Crowing hour (well, hours if you need to do a lot of crowing) starts at 4:30 and dinner is at 7:30. Proceeds stay in Montana for local habitat projects and youth education programs. In addition to a terrific dinner featuring a pork chop bigger than your head, there's live and silent auctions and raffles.

Jim told me that a capacity crowd of 350 is expected! You can purchase tickets through the Montana Pheasants forever Banquet page or by contacting Jim Seel at 406-544-3053.

Can't wait!
