A Missoula man, 26 year-old Micah Baldwin, is being held in the Missoula County Jail on $50,000 bond after allegedly pointing a loaded handgun at another man on Saturday, April 2. 

According to court documents, Baldwin had an altercation with a man at a residence in the city. The two argued until blows were exchanged, at which point Baldwin returned a his vehicle and retrieved a handgun, which he pointed at the victim as he was walking back into his residence,.

At Baldwin's justice court appearance, Deputy Missoula County Attorney Selene Koepke asked Judge Karen Orzech that Baldwin be held on $60,000 bail.

"The defendant arrived at the victim's home and initiated a fight and then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim as the victim was returning inside," Koepke said. "The defendant does have a fairly lengthy criminal history including felony criminal mischief, theft, trespass and assault, and the state believes he is a danger to the community."

Judge Orzech set bail at $50,000. Baldwin's next appearance was set for April 18.
