21 year-old Augustus Storm Standingrock was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly beating his mother's boyfriend with a crowbar while at his mother's residence, then beating and attempting to stab him at another residence later that morning.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Jennifer Clark said Standingrock has been charged with felony aggravated burglary, felony assault with a weapon, felony attempted assault with a weapon and misdemeanor assault.

The first alleged assault occurred at the mother's residence. While she was transporting the injured man, identified as Gary Martin, to the hospital, the two stopped at a residence where they thought the alleged assailant might be staying. Upon seeing Martin, Standingrock allegedly began beating him again by kicking and punching him.He also allegedly attempted to stab Martin several times with a knife.

Standingrock was initially charged early Sunday morning and placed in jail on $50,000 bond. He made an appearance in Missoula Justice Court Monday, where bail was continued at $50,000.

Clark said the burglary charge carries a maximum 40 year sentence and a possible $50,000 fine, and the felony assault charges carry a 20 year sentence each. The misdemeanor assault carries a 6 month jail term.
