Missoula police detectives arrested three individuals after Tuesday's pipe bomb incident on Spartan Drive.

According to the Missoula County Jail roster, Andrew Charles Ibey, 27, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and charged with two felonies, possession of an explosive device and burglary, while Shelly Marie Turbitt, 40, was charged with a probation violation. A third person was questioned and released by police. Ibey is being held on a $50,000 warrant.

The incident began at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, when 9-1-1 received a call that there was something resembling a bomb in the home in the 900 block of Spartan Drive. The Missoula Bomb Squad responded, along with the sheriff's office and Missoula Fire Department. After obtaining a search warrant, they used a device they called 'The Disrupter' attached to a robot that safely detonated the device.

Sergeant Jim Klawitter said the incident is still under investigation.

"The third individual, an adult male, was arrested on an unrelated warrant from out of state, and they refused to extradite him, and so he was released," Klawitter said.

Klawitter said there were no more dangerous materials remaining in the suspects' home.

"We will say that there is nothing remaining in there that would pose a danger to the public or the neighborhood," he said.

Ibey and Turbitt will appear in Missoula Justice Court via video from the Missoula County Jail on Thursday.
