Missoula police are investigating an armed robbery at a casino on North Reserve Street that occurred early Tuesday morning.

Public Information Officer Travis welsh said the suspect entered the casino just after 1:30 a.m.

"The suspect was dressed all in black that included a black bandanna over the lower portion of his face and dark sunglasses," Welsh said. "He was brandishing a handgun, that was described as silver-colored semi-automatic style type of weapon. He demanded cash from the casino attendant, and once he got it, he ran towards the back, and actually fired his weapon towards the ceiling as he fled out the back of the casino."

Welsh provided a further description of the suspect.

"Aside from his black clothing, he was about six feet to six feet-two inches tall, and weighing between 190 and 200 pounds," Welsh said. "He fled on foot towards the area of the KOA campground. Officers arrived and established a perimeter, but the suspect was seen possibly leaving the area in a vehicle before the perimeter could be established."

Welsh said no one was injured by the suspect or by the gunshot.

He asked anyone with information about the robbery to contact Detective Guy Baker at 552-6284, or to remain anonymous, to contact Crimestoppers at 721-44-44.
