I guess this is a perfect example of not always being able to judge a book by its cover. Or a millionaire by his coat. Associated Press tells us about 92-year-old Ronald Read, whose coats were often safety-pinned together and who could be seen foraging for firewood during cold New England states winters. Well, it turns out Ronald had a knack for the stock market. The retired janitor had a pretty nice portfolio. How nice? How does over $6 million sound?

He left $6 million to his local library, hospital and a number of smaller bequests took up the rest. Pretty incredible!  DB
