Meet Melissa Harris – Missoula’s Texaco Country Showdown Winner
Melissa Harris is the winner of Missoula’s 31st Annual Texaco Country Showdown. The 21 year-old lives in Stevensville and works at GlaxoSmithKlein in Hamilton.
Although Harris is excited about her next performance in the Texaco Country Showdown competition at the Montana State Fair in Great Falls on July 28, she is looking forward to that date for another reason as well. She is getting married that same day. Harris, who is technically still Melissa Forrette for another month-and-a-half, said she will make both her wedding and her performance happen that day. She added that she may show up to the fair in her wedding dress!
Harris performs a lot of original material that she wrote while working in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. She loves hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
