Maybe She Ate Fertility Ants

It’s a “who at the zoo?”, with an anteater giving birth but no MANteater to help her conceive. Officials at the LEO Zoological Conservation Center in Greenwich, Connecticut had removed the only male from the enclosure back in August, long before the six-month gestation period for baby Archie would have begun (yes, Archie Anteater). The director of the center speculates that this might be a rare case of delayed implantation, when fertilized eggs remain dormant in the uterus for a period of time. In any case, congrats to new mommy Armani Anteater. DB
