Martina McBride will be recognized for her extensive work in helping to prevent domestic violence.

The singer is scheduled to receive the Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award at the Music Biz 2015 Awards luncheon in Nashville on May 14. The award recognizes her work hosting the Middle Tennessee YWCA Celebrity Auction, which raises money for programs that help domestic violence victims.

McBride has also served as the spokesperson for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, the National Network to End Domestic Violence and other organizations, and has addressed the subject of domestic violence in 'Independence Day' and 'A Broken Wing.'

"I believe that anyone blessed enough to achieve success has a responsibility to help those in need," McBride says in a press release. “While my goal was never to be recognized for my charitable efforts, this award is proof that we can all make a difference, no matter how small, in the lives of others."
