March 6th is National Oreo Cookie Day!

I don't care who you are or where you grew up, everyone can enjoy March 6th as we celebrate the greatest cookie of all time... The Oreo Cookie! To honor such an amazing cookie it's no question that you will also need a glass of milk.

If you've been living under a rock you're entire life the Oreo sandwich cookie is two chocolate discs with a sweet cream filling in the middle. Ever since hitting the market, the Oreo cookie has been the best-selling cookie in the US.

The name Oreo was first trademarked on March 14, 1912, later in 1912 the Oreo biscuit was renamed to "Oreo Sandwich". In 1948 the Oreo Sandwich was renamed to "Oreo Cream Sandwich".

The man who truly deserves the credit for the glorious Oreo Cookie is Nabisco's principal food scientist, Sam Procello, he is the man that developed the modern Oreo cookie filling. One of the greatest inventors in history if you ask me!

There really is only one way to celebrate National Oreo Cookie Day, and that is to eat an entire tray of cookies. I'm almost positive there are zero calories in Oreo cookies when you're celebrating their national day.
