The Missoula County Sheriff's Department is looking for anyone who might know about a burglary that occurred on May 1, in Lolo.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning at the Florence Coffee Shop near Highway 93 South and Lewis and Clark Drive.

"A witness observed somebody breaking into the building and it appeared like it was a single male operating by himself," said, Missoula County Sheriff's Deputy Paige Pavalone. "He used what was described as 'a javelin of some type' to break into the building. He rummaged around, vandalized the security camera and also took off with the safe."

The suspect fled northward, toward Ann's Lane. The suspect escaped on foot, but is thought to have entered a car, however there is no vehicle description available. Because of the early morning darkness, much of the suspects description is difficult to come by.

"It was an adult male," Pavalone said. "We don't know the race of that person. He was about 6 foot tall and he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and jeans and gloves."

Deputy Pavalone also said that the Florence Coffee robbery may be connected to multiple robberies that have occurred in Ravalli county, and that the Ravalli county Sheriff's department was also investigating.
