Turkey leftovers: Las Vegas law enforcement used an interesting tactic to catch drivers ignoring pedestrians. According to Associated Press, officers dressed as Thanksgiving turkeys earlier this week as part of a sting operation. Their safety mascot, "Butterball One," would attempt to cross. If drivers didn't yield, out came police from the sides of the intersection and handed out tickets to drivers who didn't stop for pedestrians. Fines start at $191.  Amusing and clever, but the sad part is 46 pedestrians have died so far this year in Clark County, where Las Vegas is located. Yes, 46, folks! Here's hoping Butterball One and other operations like it can knock the stuffing out what sounds like a horrendous problem. DB
