Run for your lives! Okay, overdramatic I know. But Montanas can relate to the concerns, I think. Walleye in Noxon Reservoir, lake trout in Flathead...these and others are hot-button topics for our Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department and what if anything can or should be done to eliminate non-native species. Well, for Lake Tahoe it's giant goldfish. We're talking up to 18 inches in size that are starting to turn up in rather large numbers. Thanks to one or more bucket biologists, they have to address the issue and study what impact they're having on natural species there. I love to catch lake trout in Flathead and I'm more than happy to help regulate that population, but I'm not sure I have effective goldfish tackle, so you're on your own without me, Tahoe. Good luck.
