It isn't likely too many fans knew much about college basketball today.

But that's okay. With entertainment like Professor G Wiz doing fiery science experiments at halftime and Monte the Mascot bringing his A game, the energy level was through the roof for over 6600 spectators - most of them middle and elementary school kids - as the University of Montana Lady Griz basketball team made short work of the University of Providence at the second annual School Day game this afternoon.

Busloads of kids from Missoula and surrounding areas turned out to pack the Adams Center. And while most of them probably weren't too concerned with the outcome, it was nice to see the Lady Griz build a big lead early and build on it from there in a 90-45 thumping of the Argos from Great Falls. Six Montana players contributed 10-15 apiece points in the win.

The competition will get a lot tougher Saturday night. If you're looking to stuff some college basketball into your Thanksgiving weekend, the Lady Griz will host a very talented South Dakota team at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday, November 24. Special offer: buy one general admission ticket and get one free!
