When it comes to cleaning your clothes, many people wouldn't know what to do without the convenience of those little laundry detergent pods.

But the problem with these little pods is that with their bright colors and tiny size, some unsupervised kids are mistaking them for candy and bursting them open and even eating them. This has caused a major uptick in calls to Poison Control. Last year alone, more than 17,000 children younger than 6 were "exposed" to the detergent pods through skin, eye, or mouth contact.

We get that this can be a fast, easy way to wash laundry. But if you have a youngster in the house, you're going to have to work harder to make sure they don't mistake the pods for a fun new snack. Keep them up high.
