Kelly Clarkson is an open book when it comes to many aspects of her personal life, including pregnancy, so it’s no surprise that she went into great detail about dealing with debilitating morning sickness the second time around.

The pop-country singer — who is expecting a baby boy with husband Brandon Blackstock — stopped by CBS This Morning on Wednesday (Nov. 18), opening up about the difficulty she has been experiencing in her pregnancy. Clarkson says she is constantly trying to manage the illness.

“I’m familiar with all-day sickness,” she jokes. “I have to get IVs and fluids because I get so dehydrated. It’s really bad.”

Though Clarkson has gone through this before with her first pregnancy with her now-toddler, daughter River Rose, it doesn’t seem to be any easier just because this baby is a boy, contrary to old wives’ tales.

The singer spilled the beans about baby No. 2 at one of her concerts after having experienced a roller coaster of emotions during her tune “Piece by Piece."

"I couldn’t get through it and I was crying so hard,” she says. “I thought, ‘These people are going to think I’m on drugs. I’m about to lose it like a pregnant person. I gotta explain.’ And then it just came out.”

When she broke the news, Clarkson admitted right then she was already struggling with being sick.

"I’m just so hormonal today … I haven’t vomited yet," she told the crowd. "That is a freakin’ win.”

Through it all, Clarkson keeps her upbeat spirit and sense of humor intact, which we suspect will come in handy when she has two little ones to wrangle next year. No official due date has been announced, but judging by the gender reveal in October, the baby will likely arrive early next year.

Clarkson had to cancel a slew of shows on the backend of her Piece by Piece Tour due to doctor-mandated vocal rest. Though it was not made clear, the severity of the artist’s pregnancy-related illness may have been a contributing factor.
