Think of all the people you know (maybe yourself included) who try really hard to get out of jury duty. Then praise these folks in Mississippi for trying to be good citizens, only to find out they were visiting phone porn.

Yep, Associated Press says that over 300 people in southern Mississippi got jury summonses that instructed them to call a number that turned out to be a sex hotline. You think this went over well in the Bible Belt?

The Jackson County circuit clerk started getting tons of phone calls from people who called the number. He doesn't know what caused the mix-up, but an apology letter was drafted quickie, er quickly, with a promise that in the future a jury summons will be reviewed very carefully for accuracy before being mailed. And also instructions that if a gal named Stray Kitten or Mistress Bambi answers, hang up!    DB
