Well, if we have to go to court for whatever reason, I'd say we want a fair, forthright and upstanding judge, right? How about one that slapped a fine on himself for contempt of court? This happened in Michigan when Judge Raymond Voet's smartphone disrupted a hearing in his own courtroom. So he holds himself in contempt and fines himself $25! The judge had posted a policy in his courtroom stating that electronic devices causing a disturbance during court sessions will result in the owner being cited with contempt. Judge Voet said that if he can't live by the rules he enforces he has no business enforcing the rules. Good one, Your Honor. Thanks for adding a little levity to our day. I think we all could use it.
