Jordan Johnson’s Attorney Seeks Evidence or Dismissal

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — An attorney for suspended University of Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson has filed a motion asking the state to either turn over numerous records in the case against his client, or for the judge to dismiss the charge of sexual intercourse without consent.

Attorney David Paoli filed a motion Monday seeking transcripts of interviews with witnesses and the alleged victim along with text messages between the woman and witnesses and the woman’s medical and school records dating back to when she was 5.

The defense also wants to interview the woman.

At Johnson’s arraignment earlier this month, Assistant Chief Deputy County Attorney Suzy Boylan said she was concerned about her ability to sift through 1,000 pages of text messages in the case in time for the court’s deadlines.

Paoli says the delays are jeopardizing his ability to defend his client.
