I love Italian food. It’s my favorite type of food. This recipe is layered like lasagna but has a whole different taste. The Italian sausage and the peppers really gives it a nice bite.

I love casserole type dishes like this that are covered with cheese on top. To me there is nothing better than a nice crispy layer of cheese topping a hot hearty dish. This dish would be great for dinner on a cold spring night.

Italian Chicken Bake

4 chicken breasts, cooked and diced

1/2 pound of Italian sausage, cooked and diced

1/2 onion, diced

2 jars spaghetti sauce

2 bell peppers (any color), diced

1 box no cook lasagna noodles

8-12 ounces shredded cheese

Toss the cooked and diced chicken and sausage into a large bowl. Add the onion and pepper pieces to the chicken. Pour the spaghetti sauce over the entire thing and then stir. Scoop a layer of the mix into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Place a layer of the no cook lasagna noodles over the mix layer. Place another layer of mix on top of the noodles. Repeat with noodle and mix layers, ending with a mix layer on top. Cover the top of the last layer with cheese. Bake for 45 minutes at 325 degrees.
