Invasion of Big Headed Ants

Nope, not one of the new blockbuster disaster or science fiction movies this spring. Associated Press tells us that scientists near Costa Mesa, California have found a colony of big-headed ants, an invasive species that has scientists searching for other colonies. Native to Africa, their bites are harmless to humans but could have an impact on the local ecosystem. Kind of a creepy, scary looking thing, huh? And you thought only actors and politicians had huge heads in California. DB
