The University Center at the U of M campus is hosting the annual International Culture and Food Festival this Sunday, March 22nd, from noon to 5 p.m.

This year's theme is 'Big Sky, Rising Sun.' Festival tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for kids ages 3-12 and available at the door. Ticket prices include all festival events, food purchases are separate.

From the U of M website:

The event is an extravaganza where guests can visit colorful display booths featuring countries around the world; thrill in a five-hour International Culture Show featuring music, song and dance seldom seen in Missoula; visit Children’s World with crafts, storytelling, games and other interactive events; watch films from the Montana International Children’s Film Festival; and savor delicious food from all corners of the globe in the Food Bazaar, with over 20 food booths offering culinary specialties, most of them handmade.

The festival is Missoula’s biggest international event and a perennial favorite for participants and attendees alike. More than 3,000 people from campus and the community attend. It features over 100 separate events, booths and activities organized by both campus and community associations that have an international focus, as well as UM’s diverse international student and scholar community. The event is hosted by UM’s International Student Association and Foreign Student and Scholar Services and made possible by the generous sponsorship from UM and the Associated Students of UM.

This year the festival will partner with the Japan Friendship Club of Montana to showcase the 30th anniversary of the sister-state relationship between Kumamoto prefecture and the state of Montana. The club will present images and information about Kumamoto, as well as information about how to participate in the Montana-Kumamoto relationship. The festival also will feature an auction of international arts, crafts and dinners. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Missoula International Friendship Program, which offers support to UM’s international students.
