Okay, if this involves extra taxpayer dollars for additional computers, phone lines, etc...I'm all for it! We have to make sure Santa is safe and on schedule, right?

For the 60th year, NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, will be following Santa's sleigh. Christmas eve volunteers take calls from kids all over the world wanting to know where he is at any given time. First Lady Michelle Obama will be one of those working the phones, telling kids to leave kale instead of Twinkies for Santa.

Seriously, Associated Press tells us that lots of extra wire, phone lines and computers have been installed at NORAD headquarters, Peterson Air Base, Colorado Springs. The volunteers will also let us keep track via Facebook and Twitter.

Safe travels, Santa. And Merry Christmas all!   DB
