The Batmobile sold for $4.2 million over the weekend. It’s the original black, bubble-topped car used in the 1960s “Batman” TV show. The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company in Scottsdale, Arizona, isn’t revealing the winning bidder. The car was sold by its creator, auto customizer George Barris.

The Batman series was originally shown on ABC. It ran for three seasons and had 120 episodes. The first episode was titled “Hi Diddle Riddle.”
