House Fire On 11th In Missoula

The residents of 1761 S. 11th St. W. discovered smoke coming from the garage around 6:30 this evening and called emergency services. The house on the corner of 11th and Garfield is a rental property. According to the daughter of the renter, smoke was discovered in the garage by her brother and she went to investigate. Upon opening the door into the garage from inside the house, she could see flames coming from a couch being stored there. Everyone who was at home at the time, including the family cat safely exited the home.  Missoula City Fire broke several windows to gain access into the garage and quickly put the fire out. According to the renter the damage was contained in the garage and consists of smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and investigators cont

inue to look into the cause.
