First, a big old 'Merica salute to a couple of big eaters who took top honors in your more traditional eating contests.

While on his honeymoon, Elliot Zeller took top honors in the Mile High Key Lime Pie Eatin' Contest in Key West, Florida, by downing a 9-inch pie in one minute, two seconds. No hands allowed. And of course Joey Chestnut, who took care of a record-setting 70 hot dogs on Coney Island.

Well, we suspect neither Elliot nor Joey will have a lot of interest in a contest coming up this weekend. This one is for the more, shall we say, health-conscious. It will still take a heck of a tummy, though. The "Kale Yeah!" contest in Buffalo's "Taste of Buffalo" event will give contestants 8 minutes to graze on as much leafy greens as they can. Yum. Worth the effort though, with the first place prize being $2,000.

So, why do I think a whole pie and 70 hot dogs still sound better than that? Guess 'cuz I'm a 'Merican.
