District One Superintendent Alex Apostle said graduation is the culmination of all the programs the district has put in place over the past five years.
“We made a change five years ago that you have to earn the right to walk through graduation, meaning that you have to satisfy all the requirements,” Apostle said. “Previous to five years ago, students could walk through graduation ceremonies, even though they did not have the required number of credits to graduate. I think the change has brought a new sense of appreciation on the part of staff, parents and families.”
