Hempfest Bidding Mania

Entrepreneurship is a building block of capitalism. It’s great to see young people getting into the act. What I’m referring to is the sale of Seattle Hempfest Doritos bags on eBay.

A little background; Hempfest just wrapped up in Seattle WA where voters recently agreed to liberalized marijuana laws. Police in the city said they wouldn’t be making arrests and instead were going to pass snack packs or Doritos. On the bags was a simple explanation of the new pot laws. They passed out an estimated 1000 bags. Upwards of 85-thousand people attended the event daily.

It didn’t take long for some of those bags to appear on the online auction site.  I’m getting a kick out watching the bidding on some as it continues to go up well beyond the “buy it now” price of another bag. What do you suppose those bidders are doing?
