Montanan’s love their beer. Why else would Montana be home to so many amazing breweries? Yes, we all have our favorite local beers. You love the taste of your brew so much, wouldn’t you like to enjoy it another way besides just drinking it?

I have found a great recipe that will let you take down your favorite brew in a whole new way. It’s hearty and delicious beer bread. What could go better with beer on a hot summer day than a sandwich made with beer bread from your favorite local beer?

Hearty Beer Bread

3 cups flour, sifted
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
12 ounces of your favorite local beer
1/4 cup butter, melted

Dump flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and beer into a mixer and mix until combined. Scoop the dough into a bread pan. Pour the melted butter over the top of the dough, then bake for one hour at 375 degrees.
