Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey is an SNL bit that was hugely popular in the 80's.  I think everyone who was a fan remembers, word for word, at least one or two of their favorites.  Did you know Jack Handey is a real person and not a made up character?  Yep.  He first wrote comedy with Steve Martin, then later worked as a writer for Saturday Night Live after Steve introduced him to SNL creator Lorne Michaels.   Jack is still creating new Deep Thoughts everyday on his website!  Check out this little collection:
