Hang gliding and paragliding have been a part of the fabric of Missoula for decades.  Missoulians have spent countless hours watching the parade of colors soar through our summer skies. Unfortunately, access to many flying sites in Montana is in jeopardy due to changes in land ownership and development issues, including those in the Missoula area. The members of the University of Montana Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club have launched a fund-raising effort to help secure one of the premiere launch sites in Montana.  The  goal is to raise 25-thousand dollars to build a road and obtain a land use easement in the Tarkio area.  Join them  at the Kettle House North, 313 North 1st St. West, Wednesday, April 24th from 5 to 8 p.m.  As part of their Community U-Night, the Kettle House will donate 50-cents to the cause for every pint sold. In addition, members of the club are selling raffle tickets for a variety of prizes including a tandem hang glider flight and 2 tandem paraglider flights.  Raffle tickets are $10.00 each, 3 for $20.00 or 10 for $50.00 and you need not be present to win.
