For over 20 years, summers have been extra special in Hamilton with the “Tuesday at 12″ free public concert series at Hamilton’s Legion Park. And the series is back for 2012.

Now, during those 20 years, the tall cottonwoods that provided great shade in the park have been chopped down as they reached old age and there was danger of falling limbs. The new design of the park adds some permanent shade structures and, of course, new trees. The work continues with completion of most of the Legion Park redesign project by the middle of June…which is a week or two before the concerts start.

As organizers have done the past two years, local musicians have been put “center stage” in the Tuesday at 12 lineup, celebrating the talent we have right here in the Bitterroot Valley. An exception is The Cantrells, a Colorado-based duo who have been regulars in the park through its history, and they’ll be in the area this summer, so they’re performing.

  • June 19th with the great blues band “Blue Melon.”
  • June 26th, “Jenn Adams” returns to the park for a performance.
  • July 3rd, it’s the ever-popular “John Floridis Trio.”
  • July 10, the new group with a great sound “Temper Airily.”
  • July 17, on a Northwest tour, a favorite “The Cantrells.”
  • July 24, you’ll hear the “New Mike and Tari Conroy Band.”
  • July 31, we heartily welcome “The Big Sky Mudflaps.”
  • August 7, a new group with familiar faces, “Bitterroot Brass”
  • August 14, our annual visit from “The Bitterroot Community Band.”
  • August 21, we wrap up the series with singer “Bev Whelehon.”
  • What if construction at the park gets delayed? Not to worry. We will simply move a half-block to the Ravalli County Museum lawn. Just follow the music!
