Hamilton’s ‘Daly Days’ Starts Friday with Sales and Live Music

Friday, July 26, the downtown Hamilton area transforms into a pedestrian's paradise with street sales, food vendors and music in Day One of Daly Days.

Daly Days is named for the Montana town's founder, Marcus Daly, who built the town and lived in the Daly Mansion (which is open for daily tours).

Daly Days, however, is mainly a good reason to party and get great deals. The deals start Friday morning, when two blocks of Main Street are blocked off and the merchants bring their goods outside, alongside vendors' and non-profit organizations' booths. KLYQ will have our tent set up in the usual place at the intersection of 3rd and Main, with event information and "split the pot" tickets.

The Bitterrodders Car Show will have some early arrivals, but their main show will be Saturday, starting early in the morning.

The Buy Local Auction will count your Hamilton sales receipts as bidding cash for great items Friday evening.

After the auction, last year's popular live band "Cold Hard Cash" will dish up some classic rock and roll for dancers of all ages. Last year, a fast moving thunderstorm delayed the start of the outdoors dance on Main Street, and the Hamilton Downtown Association invited Cold Hard Cash back this year to let more people hear this great band.

Of course, Saturday will begin with the Kiwanis Breakfast under the Bell McCall canopy at 7 a.m., Farmers Market at 9 a.m., Art in the Park at American Legion Park, history recreators out at the Daly Mansion grounds, lots of activities at the Soroptimists' stage at the corner of 4th and Main, including wiener dog races and Kiss the Pig.

The Bitterroot Brewfest starts Saturday afternoon with four musical groups and a huge selection of area and Northwest brews.
