The Hamilton Broncs and Lady Broncs will both be playing in the Southwestern District A championship games Saturday night in Butte. The Broncs defeated the other Broncs from Frenchtown in a semi-final game Friday 69 to 64. The Lady Broncs upset the Number One team Corvallis by a 48 to 44 score. More importantly, both Bronc teams, win or lose Saturday, will automatically be in the Western Divisional Class A Tournament, which just happens to be in Hamilton next week.

For the boys, the teams were tied throughout the afternoon contest, with the score knotted at 50 to 50 going into the final quarter. Hamilton sunk some free throws to outdistance Frenchtown in the final minutes and the final score was Hamilton 69 Frenchtown 64. Frenchtown will go to a 9:30 a.m. game against Stevensville. The winner of that game will go into the Consolation match at 3:30 p.m.

The Lady Broncs also had a huge battle Friday against the Corvallis Lady Blue Devils. The lead changed numerous times and the teams seemed to be within two points of each other throughout the game. At the end, Hamilton free throws were key to winning the contest 48 to 44. Corvallis will play Stevensville Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with the winner going into the consolation match.
